Sakura, also known as cherry blossoms, are one of Japan’s most iconic and beloved symbols.These delicate pink and white flowers bloom for just a few weeks in spring — usually in late March to early April — transforming cities and countryside into magical landscapes.During this period, known as the Sakura Season, people celebrate with Hanami picnics under the trees, enjoying the fleeting beauty of nature.Temples, parks, and riversides are illuminated at night, offering unforgettable sights for travelers.

The flower of any of several trees of the genus Prunus. Another name is cherry blossom. Sakura is of great importance in Japanese culture and is one of Japan's national symbols.

Cherry blossoms bloom during 2-3 weeks in late March and early April. This period is called the Sakura season. Gardens, parks and streets are covered with trees with fuchsia and pale pink flowers.

Locals have Hanami picnics in the parks under the blossoming trees.  The gardens of many temples are illuminated with special lighting after sunset, providing a visual feast for visitors.
